Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!. We would love to have all our parents and students join the Walter C. Young Middle School Parent  Teacher Student Association (PTSA). The cost to join is $5.00 and our goal is to have 100% membership this school year. Joining the PTSA is a fantastic way to be involved in your child's education. Your membership says that your child's school is important to you. We understand that Parents and Guardians are busy, however, your membership does not require you to attend all the general meetings.  Remember anyone can join: Parents, Grand Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Students and Teachers! So lets all join and make this year awesome for our children. A PTSA envelope is being sent home with your child. Please take a moment to complete the form and have you child return the completed form with the membership dues of $5.00 per member to their first period teacher. Let's ALL join the PTSA and make this a great year.

If you would like to join our volunteer team this upcoming year, please attend our annual Volunteer Breakfast which will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at  9:AM in the school in the Dinner Theatre.

If you haven't yet signed up to volunteer on line at www.getinvolvedineducation.com or you can do so on the day of the volunteer breakfast. We also would like for you to know about our new Walter C. Young t-shirts this year. We have red for 6th graders, royal blue for 7th graders and black for 8thgraders. They are on sale in the school store for $6.00 so please get your child  their team color t-shirt. Please remember NO other t-shirts can be worn on campus. Also, they can wear their team t-shirt any day of the week.

Let's all work as a team and make this year a great success and do our part as parents to get involved and support our children's future in providing programs and activities for our children upcoming school year.

Thank you,

Laura Johns
